Biography

About Alejandra

                           

     Alejandra strongly believes in the potential of human beings to access their inner resources to create change and empower themselves to have the quality of life they want and they deserve. She is a Spanish/English Bilingual Therapist who works with adults only. As an immigrant herself, she understands cross-cultural and acculturation situations that hinder daily life due to immigration processes. Part of her focus as a therapist is to comprehend and work with the nuances of different backgrounds and cultural needs   

     Having had the opportunity to work in private practice for six years, Alejandra has experience working with people of all ages. She has worked for seven years in non-profit organizations providing individual and group counseling to victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse. In addition, Alejandra has worked for two years in a Battering Intervention and Prevention Program with men who batter women. 

     Alejandra was a founding member of the Costa Rican Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ACOHIC), and an active member of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH) and she is currently a member of the North Texas Society of Clinical Hypnosis (NTSCH). Alejandra has been a hypnotherapist for over 15 years.

She has had the opportunity to be invited as a speaker to international congresses in Mexico and Costa Rica as well as facilitated webinars with groups of students and mental health professionals in Italy, France, Reunion Island, Mexico and Costa Rica.
